PIOTR FLORCZYK is an award-winning poet, scholar, essayist, and translator. He was born and raised in Kraków, Poland, and has lived in the United States since 1994. He holds degrees from University of the Pacific (B.A.), San Diego State (M.F.A.), and University of Southern California (M.A. and Ph.D.).

In addition to his books, he has published poems, translations, essays, and reviews in many journals, including The American ScholarBoston ReviewHarvard ReviewMichigan Quarterly ReviewThe New YorkerNotre Dame ReviewLos Angeles Review of BooksPleiadesPoetry InternationalSlateThe Southern ReviewThreepenny ReviewTimes Literary SupplementWest Branch, and World Literature Today. He has taught poetry and literature undergraduate and graduate courses at Antioch University Los Angeles, Cecil College, Claremont McKenna College, University of California-Riverside, University of Delaware, University of San Diego, San Diego State University, and at USC.

Piotr and his wife Dena, who met as competitive swimmers, and their daughter live in Redondo Beach.
