CHAD SWEENEY has published six books of poetry, including Little Million Doors (Nightboat Books Prize, nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award) and Parable of Hide and Seek (Alice James Books)—as well as two books of translation, the Selected Poems of Iranian Dissident H.E. Sayeh and Pablo Neruda’s final book The Call to Destroy Nixon. Sweeney led workshops with San Francisco “youth at risk” and in bilingual classrooms for fifteen years before earning his PhD and becoming an associate professor at California State University San Bernardino. He has meditated in much of South America, India, China, Tibet, Israel, Thailand and Laos, as well as in California where he lives with his partner in life and poetry, Jennifer K. Sweeney.
